James Harold Jones

SMSgt James Harold Jones, USAF (Ret.), age 89, of Chapel Hill, died Monday, October 24, 2011 in Franklin. A native of Bedford County, Harold was a son of the late Harvey Ransom and Annie Maude Hoover Jones. Mr. Jones retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service during which he served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. During his service he spent 22 months as a Prisoner of War in North Korea. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Laird Jones who died in 1999; 2 sisters, Jeanette Fuller and Pearl Uselton; 4 brothers, Emmett, Richard, Edward and Arthur Jones; a grandchild, Shelia Pulsinelli and a great grandchild, Haley Pulsinelli.
Survived by 3 step-daughters, Linda Prior of Columbus, OH; Marilyn McCormick
of Limestone, ME; Nancy Kenney of Aiken, SC; 2 sisters, Nannie Belle Orr of Franklin, TN and Kathleen Holton of Chapel Hill, TN; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
