Mary Louise Haynes Blackwell

Mary Louise Haynes Blackwell, age 86, of the Holts Corner community, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 10, 2012. Services will be conducted on Mon., Feb. 13, 2012 at 1PM from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN with Rev. William “Bill” Taylor and Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. Visitation will be Sun., Feb. 12, 2012 from 2PM – 6PM. Mary Louise was the daughter of the late George and Annie Cole Haynes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Bob Blackwell, and an infant daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Haynes Blackwell of Holts Corner. Her role as loving mother and wife were always at the center of her ife.

She was a member of the class of 1943 at Forrest High School and a graduate of George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville. Louise compassionately taught underprivileged children at Fehr Elementary School in north Nashville. She will always be remembered for her kindness and loving devotion to family and friends. Finally restored to the fullness of new life, she showed amazing grace, courage and unconditional love during her illness.

Active Pallbearers will be Josh Curtis, Blaine Gerwick, Jacob Gerweck, Edward “Buzz” Rowland, Andrew Kieffer and John Skelton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicolas Jarrell, Will Gerweck, Chris Johns, Embree Blackwell,Jr., Charles Blackwell, Jimmy Barnes, Greg Harris, Kelly Lunn and Bobby Stammer.

Burial will be in the Joyce-Blackwell-Cromer Cemetery on Blackwell Road in Marshall Co. The family would be honored by memorials made to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc. at www.apdaparkinson.org or to the Eagleville United Methodist Church.

Thank you to the many people who offered prayers, support, and provided countless acts of kindness during her extended illness. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care provided by her physician, Dr. Karl VanDevender and his nursing staff.
