I have a huge favor to ask of each of you!
Wednesday January 11th at 11:00 am, GNRC is holding a public hearing for The City of Eagleville to pursue a $500,000 grant (will not need to be paid back) for sewer. Actually, the hearing will be for $1,000,000 because Rutherford County has agreed and is willing to "give" Eagleville their $500,000 as well. So this hearing has the potential of providing $1,000,000 for a sewer system.
The Public Hearing will be held at city hall, here in Eagleville.
We need citizens, business's, elected officials, teachers, ANYONE who will get up at the hearing and speak for the need of sewer, including health problems in relationship of not having sewer, contamination of Harpeth River, etc. These grants are awarded on needs, no longer "the buddy system". The more serious and the greater the need, the better chance of obtaining this grant.
There is no reason we should not develop some tourism dollars. Each week Pepper Saucier drives tour buses through our city. We need to give them a reason to stop, eat at one of our restaurants and check out our town!
It is important to speak of regional impact. If we had sewer, we could take advantage of empty commercial buildings and the new corridor of Hwy 99 and 41A. This could create jobs and employ citizens from Bedford, Marshall and Williamson Counties.
Sales tax collection would increase; therefore, we contribute back into the tax collected for the state as well as Rutherford County.
Any statement of the positive impact of having sewer and any statement about health issues and concern for our school and its students will be helpful.
Please tell any and everyone how important this hearing is and PLEASE COME SPEAK. These grants are awarded on need, the greater we can show the need the greater potential of getting $1,000,000.
This is free grant money that is awarded each and every year. It is time that Eagleville receives its share, but we need your help to obtain it.
Citizens often say, "no one ever listens". Well here is the chance for your voice to go directly to the state capital as well as Washington, DC. State and federal officials will conduct this hearing, NOT the City of Eagleville.
Thanks for your continued support. Tell a buddy and bring a friend!
